A salesman earns a basic salary of Ksh. 22,000 per month. In addition he was paid a commission of 2% for goods worth above Ksh. 60,000 but not more than Ksh. 90,000 and a commission of 3% for goods over Ksh. 90,000. In a certain month, he sold goods worth Ksh. 150,000. What was his total earnings for that month?

$\frac {2}{100}\times 30000 = Ksh. 600$

Second commission

$\frac{3}{100}\times 60000 = Ksh. 1800$

Total earnings = Ksh (600 + 1800 + 22000) = Ksh. 24400
