Point A(4, 4) maps onto point A¹ (8, 10) under enlargement with linear scale factor 3. Find the coordinates of the centre of enlargement.

Answers

$\frac{8 - x}{4 - x}$ = 3;

8 - x = 12 - 3x

2x = 4; x = 2

also

$\frac{10 -y}{4 - y}$ = 3;

10 - y = 12 - 3y

2y = 2; y = 1

Co-ordinate of the centre of enlargement is O(2, 1)
