MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Reader or Recognition.It is an input device that uses the technology of magnetism to read certain character on the bank cheques written in ink into computer understandable form.The MICR has several advantages that including that cheque contents can still be read even if it can be folded or dirty, accurate and faster form of input.
