The receiving clerk uses the parking slip from the suppliers that describes the contents of the shipment in conjunction with his or her purchase order copy. This is to verify that the correct material has been received. After inspection of the shipment for quantity and general conditions the receiving clerk issues a receiving report copied to the relevant departments for example, accounting, purchasing and inspection departments. The distribution of the inspection of report is held until the technical team does its inspection, thereafter the shipment is accepted.
