Speed and force of the wind
The faster and the more forceful the wind is, the greater the load it can transport.
Nature of the load
Fine dust is easily picked up and transported over great distances. Heavier material are swept along the ground while coarser ones are rolled along the ground by eddying currents and turbulence during wind storms.
Obstacles
When an obstacle lies on the path of the wind, it reduces the speed of the wind and causes it to deposit some of its load
