Water table is the upper surface of the zone of saturation of water in permeable rocks

Temporary water table is the highest level reached by water during the rainy season and is nearest to the surface
Permanent water table is the lower level which contains water in the dry season and is permanently saturated
Aquifer is the stratum of permeable rock which can hold water in its mass and allows it to pass through.
