It consist of nephron which has multiple sub-structures that relates to the kidney's overall function;
It has glumerulus which has a dense network of capillaries which are under very high pressure and filter out small molecules from the blood into the Bowman's capsule by ultrafiltration; since its basement membrane only allows small particles to pass through it, it allows small molecules such as glucose and water to be filtered out thus blocking large particles like protein;
It has proximal convoluted tubule which helps in re absorption of glucose, water, salts and small amino acids back to the blood via villi;
The loop of Henle facilitates the reabsorption of water back to the blood by pumping out NaCl into the medulla;
