To prepare lead (II) chloride from lead (II) oxide, follow the procedure below.
To about 20cm3 of dilute nitric acid in a beaker, add powdered lead (II) oxide as you stir with a clean glass rod until no more of the lead (II) oxide can dissolve in the acid.
Filter off excess lead (II) oxide and pour the filtrate (lead (II) nitrate) in another clean beaker. To the same beaker, add sodium chloride solution until in excess. A white precipitate is formed in the beaker.
Filter out the precipitate with a filter funnel and a filter paper. Wash the residue with distilled water and dry it between filter papaers.
