In Mombasa the temperatures are higher as compared to Kisumu and rust is accelerated by increase in temperature.
Also rapid rusting in Mombasa results from use of salty water from the ocean to clean vehicles.This is because salty conditions accelerates rusting.
In Kisumu water is fresh hence rusting takes place at a slower rate.
