It contains very little dust and water vapour hence no clouds are found in this layer.
Winds in this region are light in the lower parts,but increase with height.
There is an increase in temperature with an increase in height.
Atmospheric pressure continues to fall,as the air is dry.
Apart from filtering off the Ultraviolet rays,the stratosphere also acts as a protective shield against meteorites which usually burn up in this layer before hitting the earth's surface.
