Non-violent action - Rejects the use of violence in efforts to attain social or - political change. It holds that power of rulers depends on the consent of the population. Without bureaucracy, the army or police force, the ruler is powerless. Non-violence seeks to undermine the power of the rulers through deliberate withdrawal of this consent and cooperation.
Non-violent communication - A total system of thinking and being that is profoundly egalitarian and non-authoritarian, compassionate in resolving conflict. Biased radio reports bring violence.

Political reforms - It goes with democratisation. Democracy is based on elections by free and secret ballot, respect of human rights, high capacity for dialogue, active citizenry, capacity for resolving conflicts.
