Office system is a pre-planned way of doing day to day work to achieve the desired goals of an organization. Every office has its own system of doing work.
The factors involved in doing office work includes: persons, forms and equipment.

The principles of an effective office system include the following:

(i)The office work is planned in such a way that it minimizes unnecessary movement of persons.
(ii)It facilitates simple, efficient and workable system and procedures.
(iii)To make sure that machines are used for the benefit of the organization and not for personal gain.
(iv)It also facilitates the achievement of an organization’s goals at a minimum cost.
(v)It ensures no duplication of work and records.
(vi)Proper office system ensures that there is no interruption of the smooth running of office work.
