A despicable character is a character that is unpleasant,Mulili is one of the characters who is unpleasant,he is portrayed as inhuman, vengeful, hypocritical, egocentric and traitorous.
Mulili is inhuman. When we first meet him,he and Jere have come to stop Doga and Nina from going on with the shaving ceremony. At one point Jere asks him to bend the law and allow the old couple to go on with the shaving ceremony but he declines. He is insensitive to Nina's threats to strip naked. He replies that he has seen many naked bodies and he is still Mulili with out goggles.Later on he sees to it that Jere lands in jail thus inhuman.
Mulili being hypocritical pretends that he does not know what happened to Kabito. He is a liar because we know that a conflict had risen between the two of them after Mulili said that Kabito had called him a primary school kid,the argument led him to betraying Kabito to Boss under false accusation like he,Kabito came to the meeting drug,he said that boss hid money in foreign countries and that Boss tried to rape Regina.
Mulili's self cent redness or egocentric nature is seen when he tells Jere that he must see to it that law and order is maintained. This is the time when they had gone to stop the shaving ceremony and Jere began to support the old couple. Mulili clearly said that he had been been promised grade cows and acres of land and that's why he can not allow the shaving ceremony to go as he does not want to lose all that.
His vengeful nature is seen during the time they went to stop the shaving ceremony and Jere stood against him and began supporting the old couple. He says after Jere fires at him "...You shall pays for it"Jere is eventually imprisoned. When he disagrees with Kabito during the entertainment committee meeting,Mulili tells him,"You plays with fire you goat!"he surely pays for it.Within an hour he is eliminated through a planned road accident.

Read the extract below From the River and the Source by Margaret A.Ogola and answer the questions that follow
(Solved)
The crowd hissed, such a thing was unheard of,Didn't a man own a woman's body and soul?Marriage was sacred and chik' saw to it that it remained that way through by a series of taboos that made it almost impossible to sever the union. However the insult had been great. To accuse someone of juok',witchcraft, even in jest was an unforgivable crime, and there had been precedents,if the woman and her people were determined enough to get separation. The people of Yimbo were a proud lot and their love for their daughter was known all round for they always came out in massive support of her at various ceremonies and functions. The only saving grace would be the high esteem in which they held their son in law ,Owour Kembo the chief.
"And where might he be?"inquired someone,so taken up had they been by Nyar Yimbo's oratory that they had failed to notice his absence."He went to a friends's funeral the day before yesterday and is due back today" Meanwhile i will teach that she wolf a lesson"This from Otieno her brother in law.She looked at him straight in the eye and hissed" just you dare!"He retreated at the pure venom in her eyes.Besides,he was afraid of his brother who had added scandal to all his other sins by falling to ever lay a finger on his wife.
She left without further ado and her children, forgotten in the confusion ran after her. This would never do.She turned and gently but firmly ordered them to go back and await their father's return.
"But mother......"started the argumentative Obura."No buts!just go back and do as i tell you."She left them and went swiftly on her way.The crowd stood mesmerized for a while before departing also.
