OPEN SEAM
Advantages
i) It is suitable for almost any outer garment and most materials
ii) No stitching is visible on the R.S.
iii) It is easy to construct especially for beginners
Disadvantages
i).It is not suitable for fraying fabrics.
ii)It is not self neatened.
iv)It is not a strong seam as it is made up of only one row of stitching.
