(i) God decided to renew the Covenant with the Israelites who had repented.

(ii) The Ten Commandments were re-written on two stone tablets that God asked Moses to cut.

(iii) God revealed His nature to Moses as merciful, gracious, slow to anger, faithful to His promise, loving, forgiving, just and jealous.

(iv) He promised to take the Israelites to the promised land and protect them against the Canaanites.

(v) God promised to bless, protect and make the Israelites prosperous if they kept the covenant.
