i) These terms relate to kurtosis, which is the degree of flatness or peakedness of a frequency curve.
Platykurtic means that a frequency curve is less peaked. The kurtosis is less than 3.
Leptokurtic on the other hand means that the frequency curve is more peaked. The kurtosis is more
than 3
Mesokurtic means that there is intermediate peakedness. This represents the normal curve. Kurtosis
is equal to 3.
