1) External environmental variables/factors: consist of culture , subculture , social classes , social groups, family and personal influences .Have an indirect influence on consumer s since they have to be modified by internal orindividual variables.
2) Individual / internal determinants : consist of variables that influence how the consumers proceed through decision processes regarding goods and services .They include :perceptions , attitudes , personality, learning ,and motivation that have a direct influence on the consumer decision processes .
3) The consumer decision process : describes the stages that consumers go through in deciding to acquire , use , or dispose of goods and services .It is concerned with the steps in the consumer decisions regarding products that include : problem recognition, information search and evaluation , purchasing processes and post-purchase behaviour.
