Universities Offering Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media(Communication and Media)

Admission Requirements:-

i) Candidates must satisfy the general university admission requirements together with those in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences;

ii) In addition, candidates must have obtained a minimum score of C+ in English or Kiswahili;

iii) Candidates may be admitted to the B.A. (Comm. & Media) programme if they had a Diploma or equivalent of ―credit level or higher in Communication/Media from recognized institutions. Such students will be permitted to transfer up to thirty per cent (30%) from credits earned at the Diploma level to the BA (Comm. & Media) programme in accordance with Senate approved guidelines;

iv) Mature age candidates will also be admitted in the B.A. (Comm. & Media) programme, depending on their prior academic qualifications and work experience relevant to Communication and Media and related areas as determined by the department;

v) The number of students registering for the course will be restricted and determined by the department. The department also reserves the right to set up special qualifying exams or interview applicants to determine selection into the programme.
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES

Entry Requirements

i. KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C+ and a minimum of B in English or in Kiswahili or its equivalent

ii. KCSE certificate with a minimum C plain or equivalent; KCE Division II or equivalent; or EACE Division II or equivalent, with a minimum of B in English or Kiswahili. These candidates MUST ALSO have a Diploma or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognised post-secondary institution.

iii. Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) certificate with a minimum of two (2) principal passes and one subsidiary pass, and a minimum of a credit pass in English or Kiswahili at the KCE level.

iv. A degree in a relevant field from a recognised University or its equivalent.

v. Eligibility to apply to the degree does not guarantee admission
