Admission requirements:
The common admission regulations governing diploma courses in the University of Nairobi shall apply.
The entry requirements for the Diploma in International Studies shall be:
-KCSE Mean Grade C and C plain in English;
-Division II and a pass in English
-KCSE mean grade C- and C plain in English and certificate course in any field from a recognized post -secondary institution;
-KCE Division III and a certificate in any field from a recognized post- secondary institution;
-KACE 1 principal pass,
University degree in any field from a recognized institution;
Equivalents of the above qualifications
- Credit Transfer and Exemptions
- No candidate shall be allowed to transfer more than one-third of the total number of 8 taught course units.
- No candidate shall transfer credits for research methodology and the project paper.
- The point of entry into the programme for candidates shall be approved by Senate on the recommendation of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies Board and shall be based on the qualification of the candidate.
- A candidate seeking exemption shall apply through the Director, Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, to the Academic Registrar University of Nairobi, indicating the course units and supported by relevant documents. Such a candidate may be required to sit and pass an examination in that course unit.
- Applications for exemption shall be considered only after an applicant has paid an exemption fee.
