The course is offered in Jkuat's branch which is Jkuat Karen located at the heart of Karen center. The school offers a wide range of problem solving,argumentation,research and drafting skills to students.The school is aimed to produce well trained graduates to enable them provide legal services both nationally and regionally.The course impacts competent skills to people who want to be well re-known lawyers.currently,the law school has approximately 600 students.To be eligible for the Bachelor of laws course in jkuat Karen,one must have attained the following grades in his/her K.C.S.E examinations.
-A C+ in the Kenya certificate of secondary examination of which is the minimum entry requirement.It is a mandatory grade.
-One must have attained an aggregate grade of B (plain) in his/her Kenya certificate of secondary education English paper.
-2 Years taught diploma in law from a recognized institution.The institution must be recognized by jkuats senate.


The course takes 4 years for full time students in which,in one academic year,one is required to take a total of 14 units,of which divided into two semesters,7 units per semester.

For one to be honored a bachelor of laws degree from this institution,one must have gone through the 4 years mode of study of which is the minimum period and a maximum of 6 academic years.
Admission requirements
- Students interested in this program are required to have either of the following qualification
(i)A minimum of a C+ in KCSE
(ii)Advanced certificate of education GCE or A-levels applicants must have at least 2 principal passes and one subsidiary pass or its equivalent and must have passed in subjects related to the program above
(iii) Diploma or professional certificate in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
(iv)Advanced Diploma in a Relevant field, applicant must have an ordinary diploma from a recognized institution
(v)Applicants for Advanced Diploma in Teaching in Higher Education must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
(vi)C in KCSE plus a pre-University certificate with a mean of c+ (plus) and above from a recognized institution.
Applicants from non-English speaking countries shall be required to pass a special entrance exam set by the university and demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.
