Entry requirements
- One is required to possess either
of the following qualifications:
(a)A minimum of a C in KCSE or its equivalent
(b)Obtained a credit pass at certificate level
(c)Advanced Diploma in Planning and Management of Development Projects applicants must have an Ordinary Diploma from a recognized Institution.
(d)Obtained subsidiaries or a principal pass in Advanced certificate (A level) or credit pass in International Baccalaureate
In addition,one must have obtained C plain or credit pass in subjects related to this program.

- The course takes three years
Academic qualifications
- Students are expected to
have scored a minimum of
C in KCSE with C English,
chemistry or physical sciences,
biology or biological sciences
and C- in any of the subjects
below:
(i)Home science
(ii)Physics
(iii)Maths
(iv)Agriculture or general science.
Applicants holding a certificate
in food science or related discipline
will be considered for admission.

Tuition fees
- Sh.32,500 per trimester

Course duration
(i)Three years(nine trimesters) for ordinary application
(ii)Eight trimesters for applicants holding relevant certificates.
Entry Requirements

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade c (plain) or its equivalent with a minimum grade in each of the following subjects: C- in Physics/ math’s, Chemistry and Biology, or C in Physical Science and Biological Science Or
Holders of qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by the Mount Kenya University Senate may also be admitted. Or
Certificate holders in subjects related to food science and technology or their equivalent considering individual merit.
Academic requirements
To be a qualifier for this course,one is required to have scored a C in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE),with a
a minimum of a C- in maths,biology,physics and chemistry or a C in biological sciences and physical sciences or hold a relevant certificate
from a reputable institution.In addition,those having other qualifications approved by the university senate may also apply.
