This program is divided into the following levels:

(a) Foundation Certificate in Marketing (Level 3)


Minimum requirements

No previous experience or knowledge of marketing required, however, evidence of achieving one of the following English Language qualifications within the last two years is also required if English is not the student’s first language: IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above) or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above is required.


Admission fees: Ksh 10,000.00

(i) Marketing Principles - Mandatory Unit Ksh 18,000

(ii) Customer Communications - Elective Unit Ksh 18,000

(iii) Digital Essentials - Elective Unit Ksh 18,000


Program duration: 3 months



(b) New CIM Level 4 - Certificate in Professional Marketing


Entry requirements

A pass in the Introductory Certificate in Marketing or Have a Degree / Diploma in any field with less than 2 years working experience.

If English is not your first language, you will also need to demonstrate you have achieved one of the following English language qualifications within the last two years:
IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above) or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above.

(i) Marketing (Two-hour Multiple Exam) – Mandatory Unit Ksh 22,000

(ii) Integrated Communications (Assignment based unit) – Mandatory Unit Ksh 22,000

(iii) Customer experience ( Assignment based Unit) - Elective Unit Ksh 22,000

(iv) Digital Marketing (Assignment by Portfolio Unit) – Elective Unit ksh 22,000


Program duration: One year



(c) Diploma in Professional Marketing (Level 6)


Entry requirements

One or more of the following is required to gain entry to this qualification:

(i) CIM Level 4 Professional Certificate in Marketing or CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing.

(ii) Any relevant Level 4 qualification.

(iii) Foundation Degree in Business with Marketing.

(iv) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognized university, with at least one third of credits coming from marketing content (i.e. 120 credits in Bachelor's degrees or 60 credits in Master's degrees)

(v) Professional practice (suggested two years marketing in an operational role) plus diagnostic assessment on to Level 6.

If English is not your first language, you will also need to demonstrate you have achieved one of the following English language qualifications within the last two years:

(a) IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above).

(b) Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above.

(i) Mastering Metrics (Assignment based unit) – Mandatory Unit Ksh 24,000

(ii) Strategic Marketing (Three-hour Extended Answer Exam) - Mandatory Unit Ksh 24,000

(iii) Driving Innovation (Work -based Assignment Unit) - Elective Unit Ksh. 24,000

(iv) Digital Strategy (Three Part portfolio Assignment Unit) – Elective Unit Ksh. 24,000


(b) Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (Level 7)


Entry requirements

As a minimum, the following qualifications and experience are recommended as a prerequisite for entry onto the first stage of the Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing:

Stage One

(i) CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing or the CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing OR

(ii) A Business or Marketing Bachelor's or Master's degree (or an equivalent qualification) where a minimum of half of the credits come from Marketing (i.e., 180 credits in Bachelor degrees and 90 credits in Master's degrees) AND

(iii) A range of experience working at Senior Marketing Management level that allows potential students to provide evidence that they can meet the learning outcomes of the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing if required to do so and pass the entry test for this qualification.

Stage Two

(i) Successful completion of Stage one or a previous version of the CIM Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. AND

(ii) A range of experience in a senior marketing management role that has provided potential students with ability to evidence competence in managing marketing resources and contributing to business decisions from a marketing perspective and would be eligible for MCIM status. They should be able to provide evidence that they have met the learning outcomes of the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing if required to do so. ADDITIONALLY

(iii) Students should be in a position (preferably working) to plan, agree and implement a work based project that is relevant to their business context.
Graduates will also need the relevant experience, confirmed registration on our Chartered CPD Programme and two consecutive years of:

(a) Member CIM (MCIM) or Fellow CIM (FCIM) membership grades.

(b) Continuing professional development (CPD).

Note: Entry level is dependent upon the currency and relevance of your qualifications and experience. If English isn’t your first language, you will also need to demonstrate you’ve achieved one of the following English language qualifications within the last two years:
• IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above).

Stage 2 module

Leading Marketing (Project) Ksh 30,000
Minimum entry requirement:
1)A passing score on the CIM Examination.
2) Bachelor Degree in any field and;
3) A minimum of two years experience in any related investment area (portfolio management, finance, accounting, investment…).
