From paul's teaching, mention three areas in which many families have deviated from this teaching
Pauls teachings for family exhort;
-Husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and not to be too harsh to their children
-Total submission of wives to their husbands
-Children to obey their parents in the Lord
All of Pauls teaching on family may be summarized with his own words in Ephesians Submitting to one another in the fear of God

Husbands;
More often than not, even among the Christian circles, the husband no longer loves the woman as Christ loved the church. A lot of times his love is based on merit. If she doesn’t please me, I shall find one who does. they warn. The wives themselves seem to approve of this for they work hard not in line with Paul’s teaching but rather to avoid losing their husbands at the same time teaching the younger women to do the same. There are more women than men in the world today is the widely believed myth.

Wives;
In today’s modern world the husband who is the head of the home as Christ is the head of the church no longer commands total submission from the wife and children.
Modern society condones and defends reasons for deviating from the total submission of the woman to her husband requirement taught by Paul. This teaching in their view is archaic. Most have argued that today’s life style calls for relevant solutions. Resolutions valid for circumstances existing 2000 years ago are impractical for today’s problems, they quip. It is clear that they have forgotten that all scripture is God breathed and never loses its validity.
Gender equality is the slogan in every sector. What a man can do a woman can do better. The working woman views herself to be of equal status with her husband. If the husband happens to earn less than the woman, submission to the husband is not even an option, for she believes reverence is justified by superior economic status. Paul’s teaching of Wives submitting in all things has been trampled underfoot. If she contributes to bread winning. Her point of view deserves reverence too, argues the woman.
Children;
Throughout history, children especially as they grow older -beginning from the adolescent age- have been persuaded that they face dissimilar conditions from those their parents faced at their age. Children believe that their parents are unable to assist or understand their condition. They seek to learn from their peers or other sources that may misguide them. In effect this has made most children unaccommodating to their own parents and to a larger extend rebellious. Having said these, it must be noted however that the parents’ mode of association with their children may contribute to this peril. Forbidding discipline by the cane by most national regulatory systems of government has also had its share in making discipline ineffective. If this (the discipline by the cane) lacks when the children are still very young, it becomes difficult to instill discipline of any other forms when the children are older. This has largely contributed to children’s disrespect, even rebellion towards their parents.
