1. Start answering the easy questions first. This helps you to answer what you already know in case time elapses. After answering the easy questions or those you are familiar, you can now tackle the hard questions, those you are unfamiliar with.

2. Give more time to questions with higher marks. These questions normally require detailed information, and consequently, more time so that you can be able to score all the marks.

3. Before you do anything in an examination room, read all the instructions on the question paper carefully to avoid making some mistakes that you may have otherwise avoided.

4. Always be in the examination room thirty minutes before the exam starts. This makes you less nervous when the exam arrives because you will have already familiarized yourself with the examination room.

5. Make sure to carry with you all the necessary materials you'll need during the examination. Items like enough pens, paper, geometrical sets, calculators among others should be with you in the examination room. This avoids the tendency of borrowing that might distract your attention during the exam.

6. Avoid carrying with you reference materials(mwakenyas), which can affect you badly, including discontinuation from doing the exam or cancellation of your results.

7. Have a timer like a watch. At least something that can help you time yourself to avoid running short of time.

8. Don't enter the examination room with your mobile phone. It can distract you, especially when you receive a disturbing message on your phone in the process of an examination.

9. Try to breath in deeply, at least three times, before the examination starts. This helps you feel relaxed and helps kill panic.
