Its every student’s dream to advance his/her studies and acquire the title of a scholar at a higher education’s institution after completing high school education. Having made it to a reputable college or university, each student feels the urge to lead a life that really proves satisfactory. No one wants to be left behind when others are exploring the new things in the outside life. This simply becomes a time to try all the things that one never got a chance to do while busy chasing around good grades. You can almost picture out the situation in which such students are caught instead of concentrating with education.

In this case, the freshers find themselves entangled in things which cannot assist them in their quest for knowledge. Many a times, peer pressure is the main reason as to why students who have newly joined higher learning institutions get lost. While lost in the confusions, they engage in unhealthy practices like drug abuse, prostitution, crime and illegal businesses. At this juncture, you will come across students who are into uncouth behaviors whose roots are not even known. If things do not take a different course, these students succumb to academic failure. In other words, this could be the beginning of misery in their lives.

However, it is possible to elude misfortunes of this kind. The wise men say that life is made up of a chain of choices. Thus, it all depends with the choices one makes in life. Another dictum talks about birds of the same feather flocking together. With this understanding, students’ better stand warned that the friends they choose eventually dictate the character traits they assume. This does not mean that one cannot have fun and adventure. The best thing is to have goals, rules and attempt to avoid getting

mixed up in dirty games. That way, life will be worth living in any higher learning institution.
