(a) A mean grade of C- at KCSE with C- in either Mathematics or Physics and C in any two of the following subjects:
(i) Physical Science
(ii) Home Science
(iii) Geography
(iv) Agriculture
(v) Biology
(vi) Chemistry
(vii) Biological Science

(b) A certificate in relevant disciple from a recognized institution.

(c) KCE certificate with at least Division I,
II & III with the following minimum grades; a
pass in either Mathematics or Physics, a pass in
any two of the science subjects (Agriculture,
Biology, Chemistry, Biological sciences,
physical science, home science and geography)
and a pass in either English or Kiswahili.

(d) Have A-Level certificate with at least two
subsidiary passes in Biology and/or Chemistry
plus a subsidiary pass in any one of the following
subjects: Physics, Mathematics, Geography,
Economics, and or Food Nutrition

Horticultural farming earns Kenya foreign exchange.
This type of farming requires skilled manpower in terms of production, storage and export.
