to holders of any one of
the qualifications below:
(a)A degree with at least Upper
Second Class Honours in any one
of the fields below:
(i)Horticulture
(ii)Botany and Zoology
(iii)Agriculture
(iv)Environmental sciences
(v)Forestry
(vi)Bachelor of Education in Science with Botany and Zoology option

(b)Bachelor's degree in any of the disciplines above
with at least Lower Second Class Honours plus
two years relevant experience or a relevant
Postgraduate Diploma

(c)A pass degree in disciplines above
and a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant
discipline.

(d)A pass degree in disciplines
above with at least five years
working experience.

- Students applying for this program
must be in possession of any one of the
qualifications below:
(i)Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or relevant
discipline with at least Second Class Honours
Upper Division from either Jomo Kenyatta University
of Agriculture and Technology or any other institution
recognized by the university senate.

(ii)Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with at least
Second Class Honours Lower Division plus relevant two years
work experience

Academic requirements
- Applicants are required to have attained second class honors upper division in horticulture or its equivalent from Jomo Kenyatta University and Technology or
- Hold an equivalent degree from university recognized by Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology senate or
- Hold second class honors lower division degree in horticulture or a similar discipline plus an evidence of research ability from an institution recognized by the Senate.

Minimum requirements.
(a) Bachelor of Science(BSc.) degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Range Management, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Biological and Natural Sciences from a recognized University; OR

(b) Bachelors degree as in 1 above with a Lower Second Class Honors plus at least two years of relevant work experience/ demonstrated research ability.

(a) First Class Honours and Upper Second Class Honours Degree in related fields OR

(b) Lower Second Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree
with additional relevant training, evidence of
research capability and relevant working experience.
