Admission Requirements:-

The candidates to be admitted to the degree program of Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics must satisfy the minimum common entrance requirements of Egerton University of at least C+ and any other departmental and faculty requirements.
A Candidate must obtain at least a C+ grade in mathematics, and C grade in the other JAB subject clusters.

Admission may be offered to outstanding diploma holders in Applied Statistics. Based on Senate approved guidelines, candidates may be allowed to transfer credits from this diploma course from an institution recognized by the University Senate up to a maximum of 30% of the program CF.

KNEC Diploma holders in related disciplines or their equivalent recognized by the University who meet the admission requirements are eligible for admission on credit transfer (those with Pass, enter into first year; those with credit/distinction enter into second year).
The course is offered at Egerton university under the faculty of science. The programme takes four academic years comprising of eight semesters. In the period of time one is taught the various approaches to calculate the probability of an event occuring mathematically, one digs into various probability distributions of events.One also gets to be taught computer programming and computer interactive statistics,this is advantageous to a student in the job market.

(i) Mean grade of C+ at KCSE with at least C+ in English and B- in Mathematics/Credit pass in bridging Mathematics from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
