(a) Marine fishing is not well developed due to a number of factors such as the warm waters of the tropics which do not favour the breeding of fish in large numbers.
(b) The fishing in both countries is on a small scale basis. The catch is usually small and therefore little remains for sale. Simple fishing methods and small boats that are not equipped with preservation facilities are used.
(c) The main fish species in the both countries are similar.
