Hypocrisy is the desire to wear masks in an attempt to keep a positive image.
Hypocrisy is demonstrated by Mulili, who even after his role in Kabito's death, breaks the news of the death of Kabito to Nicodemo and Tumbo Pretending to be shocked and in disbelief. He lies that Kabito died following a road accident which he blames on driving under the influence of alcohol.
Even after giving directions to Mulili on how he will eliminate Kabito, he is seen in tears following his death and orders that the road be named after him-Kabito road. He tries to pretend how he is saddened by his death.This is hypocrisy.
Hypocrisy is also seen through Mulili who all along has been pretending to be the most loyal person to Boss so as to gain property and personal glory.He has also exploited the fact that he is Boss's cousin to intimidate or eliminate those who stand on his way,but at the end of the play,he betrays the very man who had given him all the power he had misused.
