It is true that the girl child in Kenya has been under lots of neglect for quite a long time until recent years when things changed for the better. There was a time women could not claim or apply for certain job positions in the nation. For instance, a Kenyan lady regardless of the ethnic group she belonged to would not even think of applying for the post of a manager in a company. Such top positions in the community were believed to be reserved for men. If ladies were to work and especially in the corporate world, they just had to accept the subordinate positions.

As time elapsed, the table slowly turned and things took another direction. It is now known that women should be presented with equal chances of assuming any job position. The same way, the Kenyan government has created room for the participation of ladies in as far as the parliament is concerned. This is entirely a sign of proper measures focused towards embracing gender equality. Nobody can deny the fact that this idea is really working. A good example of the clarification lies in this year’s KCPE results which clearly show that ladies truly deserve equal opportunities with respect to men. Surely, among the top three students of the year, there is a girl who is purely ranked at such a level by merit.

Wonderful! With this crucial mark of excellence, I bet we are all convinced that the girl child is trying hard to attain even higher goals than before. Therefore the country stands a chance to witness strong feminine figures in a perfect attempt to succeed legends like the late Wangari Mathai. Kudos goes to our Kenyan ladies as they work hard each and every day to extend the nation’s visions and achievements.
