Education is key to almost everything in a country like Kenya. The presidential aspirants have clearly stated in their manifestos how they intend to change the education of the Kenyan child by equipping the system with ICT(Information Communication Technology) resources like ipads and so on. To me this is a brilliant idea but we would be fooling ourselves around if we don't consider the current challenges facing our education system. Some of the challenges facing education now are quite huge and they must be dealt with first before paving way for the ICT vision.
In case the next government fails to dedicate enough funds for this project, then the dream will remain unrealistic. Below are some of the possible challenges facing the project.

1. Infrastructure. Many schools in Kenya especially public schools lack adequate basic infrastructure like classrooms, laboratories, electricity, and accessibility in terms of roads. Sincerely speaking we cannot equip institutions lacking these basic facilities with ICT resources. In order to do this, the government should put the issue of infrastructure on the fast lane before considering luxurious world class learning with the current technology.

2. Professional tutors will be needed. Highly qualified tutors must be hired in order to fulfill this promise but if we take a closer look at the current situation it seem the government has failed to hire enough teachers and review their salaries. This will be the next biggest challenge in the process of making changes in our education system.

3. Corruption. This monster will paralyze every step and eat up all the resources before any progress is made. The next government must have relevant methods of eliminating corruption in the education sector otherwise everything will be zero work.

These are the major challenges that might paralyze the ICT revolution in schools. There are many other minor challenges like

geographical locations and the cultures of different people which might also be a great obstacle.
