All candidates admitted to the degree programme of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (B.Sc. Agricultural Engineering) must satisfy the minimum entrance requirements stipulated in the common university entrance regulations.

In addition, candidates must obtain at least the minimum grades in the following cluster subjects at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E).

Those holding qualifications equivalent to the K.C.S.E above from institutions recognized by Egerton University Senate may also be admitted.

Admission may be offered to outstanding diploma holders in engineering disciplines who have passed with a credit or above or their equivalent from institutions recognized by Egerton University Senate. Such cases will be treated on individual merit.

Transfer of credit up to a maximum of 30% of the total CF may be considered for diploma holders based on the guidelines stipulated by the Senate.

Self-sponsored applicants shall be required to meet the University and Faculty admission criteria.
Admission requirements
- Interested students are required
to be in possession of any one of
the qualifications below:
(a)A minimum of B- with at least B mean
grade for the total score in the four KUCCPS
cluster subjects,and C+ in the individual cluster subjects:
(i)Physics
(ii)Maths
(iii)Chemistry
(iv)Geography or biology,or any group IV.

(b)K.A.C.E certificate with at least three
principal passes of nine points in chemistry,physics,maths and biology or geography.

(c)A diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution with at least
a credit pass.

Diploma holders will be admitted in the second year of study whereas those
holding a Higher National Diploma shall be admitted in the third year of study.

Diploma holders in engineering disciplines may be
admitted provided they have passed with credit and
above.Students holding diploma may transfer credits
up to thirty percent.

Entry requirements
Applicants with a minimum mean grade of C+ at KCSE and have attained the minimum grades
indicated in the following clusters of five subjects are eligible for admission:
(i) Maths C+, Physics C+, Chemistry C+, Biology (or Geography or any Group IV) C+, English/
Kiswahili C+ OR


(ii) Maths C+, Physical Science C+, Biological Science C+, Geography (or any Group IV) C+,
English/Kiswahili C+ OR

(iii) A diploma or higher diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

This is one of the only accredited Engineering course at Egerton university .
It entails equipping the students with the ability to apply engineering principles in the field of agriculture to improve production.
The course is available to both the B and A students from qualified institutions.
