Entry requirements
Admission shall be granted to holders of
any one of the qualifications below:
(a)A minimum of C+ in KCSE with C in each
of the subjects below:
(i)Chemistry
(ii)Biology or biological sciences

In addition,they must have scored
C- in each of the following subjects:
(i)Maths/physics
(ii)English/kiswahili

(b)At least two principal passes
at K.A.C.E

(c)A minimum of C in KCSE with C-
in both English and maths plus a diploma
or Higher National Diploma in any one of
the disciplines below:
(i)Human Nutrition
(ii)Pharmacy
(iii)Community Health
(iv)Public Health
(v)Clinical Medicine.

Holders of other relevant qualifications
may be admitted after approval by the
university senate.

Students who have passed with credit
pass at diploma level shall be admitted
to second year whereas those holding Higher
National Diploma shall join third year.

- Part time and full time

Tuition fees
-Kshs.160,000 per year

- Four years
This program prepares graduates in addressing the following health issues:

(i) Substance abuse.

(ii) Reducing environmental hazards.

(iii) Controlling infectious disease.

Some of the areas covered in this program are:
(i) Disease Surveillance.

(ii) Disaster Management.

(iii) Mental Health.

(iv) Water Safety and Quality Control.

(v) Food Surveillance.

(vi) Biostatistics.

(ii) KACE certificate with two relevant principal passes.

The candidate must meet the following requirements to be admitted to the BSc.PH with IT programme:

i) Have the minimum University admission requirements.

ii) Candidates must have obtained a minimum Grade of C+ (plus) in the following subjects at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE)

Biology

Chemistry

Mathematics or Physics

English or Kiswahili

iii) Candidates with Diploma in Public Health from Kenya Medical Training College, Community Health and Nutrition, Environmental Health or any other training institution recognized by the University Senate.

vi) a) Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE) with a minimum of Division II or its equivalent.

b) Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or its equivalent:

2 Principals in Science subjects (One of which must be Biology) and 1 Subsidiary in Mathematics/Physics, and English or Kiswahili.
Entry requirements
(i) A mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE and their equivalent OR

(ii) A diploma from a recognized institution in any of the following health professions:
(a) Public Health
(b) Nursing
(c) Medical Laboratory Sciences
(d) Pharmacy

(iii) License by the respective professional body.

(iv) Two years working experience in the respective health profession

Mode of study
(i) This is a part time programme for two days in a week; Thursday and Friday evening classes.
(ii) Evening classes may be arranged for Sunday.
(iii) A full-time programme is offered at the main campus, Baraton

Course duration
(i) Part-time programme: 3 1/2 years.
(ii) Full-time programme at the main campus can take 2 1/2 years


Tuition fees
Ksh. 4,500 per credit hour
Program status: Upgrading program.

Admission requirements
(i) A minimum mean grade of C+(plus) or its equivalent.

(ii) The entrance requirement for the preferred area of study as set by the respective department.

(iii) Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (A-Level) with a minimum of 2(two) principals and 2(two) subsidiary passes.

(iv) Diploma holders from recognized institutions are accepted
Course Entry Requirements: KCSE Mean Grade C+, with C+ in Biology and Chemistry, C in Mathematics/Physics, C in English or Kiswahili OR KCSE Mean Grade of C, plus a relevant Diploma from an accredited institution.
