Admission requirements
Candidates wishing to study for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree shall have met the minimum University entry requirements.

a) For the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) holders, minimum university admission requirement is C+ (plus) and in addition, an average of B plain in each of the following cluster subjects

Biology
Chemistry
Physics or Mathematics
English or Kiswahili
b) For Kenya advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) holders, a minimum of two principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and subsidiary pass in either Mathematics or Physics

c) For International Baccalaureate (IB), a minimum of grade 5 or above in International Baccalaureate
d) For diploma holders in Medical Sciences, a minimum ‘O’ level Division II pass in K.A.C.E or C+ (plus) mean grade and a credit C+ in cluster subjects in KCSE , in addition to a three year diploma with a minimum of a credit pass from a medical training institution recognized by the Board

e) Proficiency in English language

f) For holders of any degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university subject to passing Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

g) Other qualifications deemed to be equivalent to those in paragraphs (a)-(d) above from institutions recognized by the different institutions’’ Senates

Students applying for the above program are expected to be holding any of the qualifications below:
(a) A mean grade of B+ at KCSE.
In addition, they must have passed in the following alternative subjects:
-Alternative A.
(i) B+ in Biology.

(ii) B+ in Chemistry.

(iii) B+ in Mathematics or Physics.

(iv) B in English or Kiswahili.

-Alternative B.
(i) A- in Physical sciences.

(ii) A- in Biological sciences.

(iii) B+ in Mathematics.

(iv) B in English or Kiswahili.

(b) A level qualifications with three principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and a principal pass in either Mathematics or Physics.

(c) A Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognized Medical Training Institution and registered as a Clinical Officer in Kenya.

(d) A Bsc degree in health-related sciences like Nursing, bachelor of Pharmacy or BSc in basic sciences majoring in Biology, Zoology or Chemistry.

- To qualify for this course,one is required to possess any of the qualifications below:
(a)A minimum of
C+ in KCSE,with B in each of the
cluster subjects:
(i)Mathematics/ physics/ physical sciences
(ii)Biology
(iii)Chemistry/physical sciences
(iv)English/Kiswahili
(b)A minimum of two principal passes in
biology and chemistry and subsidiary pass
in either maths or physics in Advanced levels
(c) A minimum of division II or C+ in KCSE with
C+ in cluster subjects plus a diploma in health
science or in related discipline from a recognized
institution.
(d) A degree in biological sciences its equivalent.

(a) A mean grade of C+ at KCSE with C+ in either of the following subject alternatives:
-Alternative A.
(i) Physics/Mathematics.

(ii) English/Kiswahili.

(iii) Chemistry.

(iv) Biology.

-Alternative B.
(i) Mathematics.

(ii) English/Kiswahili.

(iii) Physical Sciences.

(iv) Biological Sciences.

(b) A level qualifications with two principal pass, one in Chemistry and the other one in Biology.
In addition, they must have also scored one subsidiary pass in either Physics or Mathematics.

Course requirements
(i) Applicants must have scored a B+ in KCSE with a C+ in biology,chemistry,physics or maths and a C+ in English/kiswahili or

(ii) Two principle principles in biology and chemistry and a one subsidiary pass in either maths or physics or

(iii) Division II or a C+ in KCSE with C+ in maths,chemistry and biology with a diploma in medical sciences.

Full time
Entails study of human health. It offers three pre-clinical years mostly dealing with theory: human anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and pathology, and three clinical years dealing with internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology and public health.
It is abbreviated as MBChB. It is a six year undergraduate program. It is taught according to the recommendations of Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
The curriculum for the MBChB aims to produce a competent, undifferentiated doctor with the attitudes, knowledge and skills to enter the health care field.
