Admission Requirements:-

To be eligible for admission, the applicants must satisfy the general University requirements;

In addition, the applicants must have taken History and Government in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination and obtained a minimum grade of C+, or the equivalent in other examinations;

Applicants with a Diploma in the Arts are eligible for admission provided that they passed with a ―Credit or higher. Additionally, they must have obtained at least a ―Credit ―in History. Such students are allowed to transfer up to thirty percent (30%) of the B.A. (History) Credit Factors from credits earned at the Diploma level in accordance with the Senate-approved guidelines;

There is a Mature Age qualifying scheme for admission for full- and part-time students. The requirements are as specified in the University Statutes. The Department reserves the right to set a special entrance examination and/or conduct interviews of applicants as individual cases may apply.
Admission requirements
-Applicants holding any one of the qualifications
below shall be eligible for admission:
(i)A minimum of C+ in KCSE

(ii)A minimum of C plus a Baccalaureate
diploma from a recognized institution.

(iii)Division III at KCE/EACE or ordinary GCE plus
International Baccalaureate diploma

(iv)EAACE/KACE/Advanced GCE Certificate with one principal
pass plus International Baccalaureate diploma

(v)At least two principal passes at KACE. or EAACE certificate

(vi)A relevant degree from reputable university

(vii)International Baccalaureate Diploma

pass at KACE
(c)A diploma in any history-related discipline
from a recognized university.

This course deals with learning about Archaeology especially how to conduct excavations, and then equipment necessary. One gets an insight on archaeology. The history section is vast and is essential in knowing about the past occurrences and how they have molded the world today.
