The above discipline is concerned with food productionThe program aims at producing graduates who are capable of ensuring the following qualities of food are adhered to:(i)Food taste(ii)Food safetyGraduates are equipped with the skills below:(i)Quality management in food processing(ii)Nutrition and food analysis(iii)Human relations and organizational leadership(iv)Food researchThe above skills and knowledge will be able to work as:(i)Food scientists (ii)Food technologists(iii)Food plant managersApplicants are required to practice high levels of integrity during the period of study so that they can be reliable in the food industry.To qualify,they are expected to be holders of any of the qualifications below:(i)A minimum of C+ in KCSE with C+ in chemistry,maths or physics C and C+ in English or kiswahili(ii)A diploma in Food science from a reputable college with at least a credit.
