Requirements:-
K.C.S.E Candidates

In addition to satisfying the minimum University entrance requirements, the candidate should also offer passes at C+ or above in Biology or Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry or Physical Science and in Mathematics. In order to satisfy the cluster of four subjects, for candidates offering Physical and Biological Sciences, the fourth subject may be selected from the following:

-Geography

-Home Science

-Agriculture

-Wood work

-Metal work

-Building Construction

-Power Mechanics

-Electricity

-Drawing and Design

-Aviation Technology

Candidates who satisfy the minimum University entrance requirements, but have a C plain in Biology or Biological Sciences, Physics and Chemistry or Physical Sciences and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission after taking and passing bridging courses in these subjects offered by the University of Nairobi .

Other Candidates:

Admission to the degree course may also be granted to the following candidates:

-Holders of K.A.C.E or equivalent with minimum 2 principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and at least a subsidiary pass in Mathematics. If Mathematics was not offered at K.A.C.E, then it is accepted at Ordinary Level but with a minimum of a credit or above.
-Holders of a Diploma in Agriculture or related equivalent from a recognized institution with pass at credit or distinction. Candidates with a pass with two years or more relevant working experience
-Holders of a Higher National Diploma or equivalent in biological sciences and other related sciences from a recognized institution
-Holders of credit pass Ordinary Diploma in biological sciences or related sciences from a recognized institution.
-Holders of a degree in biological sciences or related sciences from a recognized university.
The common regulations for the Bachelor of Science degrees in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi, shall apply. In addition, the applicants with the following minimum qualifications shall be admissible:

Holders of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C+ or equivalent with passes at C plain or above in Biology or Biological Sciences and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Agriculture or Geography

Holders of KCSE mean Grade of C- or equivalent plus a Certificate and Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by the Senate.
Holders of ‘O’ level Division II or equivalent with subjects indicated in 3.1.1 above; plus a Diploma in a relevant field from an institution recognized by the Senate

Holders of ‘A’ level with two Principal Passes or equivalent in Biology and any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography or Mathematics

Holders of KCSE mean Grade of C plain or equivalent plus a Diploma in Biological Sciences or related sciences from an institution recognized by the senate

Holders of a higher national Diploma in Biological Sciences or related sciences from an institution recognized by the Senate.

Holders of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related sciences from an institution recognized by the senate
Equivalent qualifications to the above from institutions recognized by the Senate
Admission requirements
- Applicants are required to hold any one of the qualifications below:
(a)A minimum of C+ in KCSE with C in biology or biological sciences and C in any one of the subjects below:
(i)Physical sciences
(ii)Chemistry
(iii)Physics
(iv)Maths
(v)Geography
(vi)Agriculture
(b)C- in KCSE plus a certificate and diploma in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the university senate.
(c)A minimum of C- in KCSE with passes in subjects in (a) above plus a relevant diploma from a recognized institution
(d)'A' level qualifications with two principal passes in biology and any one of the subjects below:
(i)Physics
(ii)Maths
(iii)Geography
(iv)Chemistry

(e)A higher diploma or a degree in biological sciences or related discipline from a recognized institution.

(f)A minimum of C in KCSE plus a diploma in biological sciences or its equivalent.
(g)Holders of any other relevant qualifications may be admitted after approval by the senate.

Entry requirements
Candidate must have obtained a minimum aggregate mean of C+ (plus) and a C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Physics/Maths, Chemistry, Biology English/Kiswahili OR C (plain) in each of the following subjects: Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Geography or any of the Group IV subjects at K.C.S.E. or an A Level equivalent.
Alternative:Diploma in AGED (credit and above) or other equivalent qualifications from institutions recognized by the University Senate. Such candidates shall enter the programme at the second year of study unless otherwise specified by the School. Holders of a pass diploma with 2 years relevant experience may be admitted in 1st year of study.

Duration :4 years
Admission Requirements:-

i) To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the minimum entry requirements stipulated in the university statutes; currently it is a requirement that applicants must at least have obtained a C+ grade aggregate in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent;

ii) In addition, to be admitted into this programme, applicants must have passed the KCSE with at least grades C+ in Mathematics; C+ in English; C+ in Biology or B in Biological Sciences; C+ in Chemistry or B in Physical Sciences;

iii) Alternatively, admission may be granted to Diploma holders who have passed with at least a Credit or its equivalent from recognized colleges or universities.

(a)A minimum of C+ in KCSE,with C+ in any three of
the subjects below:
(i)Agriculture or geography
(ii)Biology
(iii)Chemistry
(iv)Either physics,maths or physical sciences

(b)C in KCSE plus a relevant diploma with at least
a credit pass in a subject related to environmental studies,agriculture or applied
biology.

(ii)Non East Africans Kshs.175,000 p.a
