(a) Bush clearing. Bushes are the main habitat for tsetse flies. By clearing the vegetation, both adult flies and pupae are killed because there is less humidity.
(b) Insecticide application. Spraying is done either from low flying aircraft or from the ground.
(c) Sterilization. This is done by crossbreeding closely related species which results in sterile males or introducing an exotic species into the habitat of an original species.
(d) Traps. This method has gradually become effective due to the development of baits. This method has gained popularity due to environmental awareness on the pollution caused by the use of insecticides
