Betrayal means failing to remain royal to someone or a course.It can also be read as giving information about someone to an enemy of theirs.
Ole Kaelo betrays his daughters Resian and Taiyo. As a father,the community expects him to protect his family from harm.He fails to do so and further causes them pain and disappointment.When Taiyo is sponsored for a music extravaganza at the coast following her good performance in music,she expected her parents to be happy about her but her father refuses to give her permission to attend the event.This leaves her hurt .Further betrayal is seen when after Resian ran away,Ole Kaelo allows Oloisuduri to make demands that Taiyo be circumcised so as to be his wife.
Resian feels betrayed by her father when he sells her off to Oloisuduri. Although Resian knew that her father never loved her,she never expected her father to marry her off to Oloisuduri which makes her to run away and in the process taken hostage by Olarinkoi.
Olarinkoi betrays Resian after he tried to take her by force and beats her up badly after she tries to defend herself.This is after Resian had developed trust in him for saving her from Oloisudori.
Mama milanoi betrays her daughters too.Instead of protecting them as a good mother,she follows what t
he culture expects of her,to be submissive ,this is when she was told to prepare them for circumcision,leading to their escape.
The people of Nasila feel betrayed by Minik ene Nkoitoib
by conducting anti F.G.M campaigns. It is this feeling of betrayal that makes them harbor so much haterd towards her.They nickname her wasp. Nasila was regarded as the devil incarnate.
