• The silverware in an informal table setting is straightforward.
• The salad fork and dinner fork go on the left side of the dinner plate, with the salad fork farthest from the plate.
• The right side of the plate is reserved for the knife and spoon, with the soup spoon being the farthest from the plate next to the knife, which is set with the blade turned toward the plate.
• A dessert spoon is placed horizontally above the plate.
