SECTION A: Answer ALL questions in this section (30 Marks)
1. What do you understand by the terms 'Behaviour' and 'Disorder'? (2 marks)

2. Though there is no single known cause of behaviour disorders, various circumstances have been attributed to the aetiology of behaviour disorders. Briefly explain TWO aetiological factors in BD (4 marks)

3. On most occasions, children are labelled as having behaviour disorders inappropriately. As a specialist in this area, advice on three behaviour qualities that must be recorded, before behaviour can be concluded a disorder (3 marks)

4. According to paragraph 6 of part of the Children Act (2001), every child shall have a right to live and be cared for by his parents. What is the implication of this statute on children with behaviour disorders? (3 marks)

5. Identify THREE issues that make reintegration of child offenders problematic (3 marks)

6. In understanding behavior disorders, various theories have been advanced. The psychocfynamic theory bases argument on the infancy conflicts and unsatisfied emotional needs.
a. Explain one limitation of this theory in understanding behavior disorders. (2 marks)
b. Give two interventions that are suggested by this theory (4 marks)

7. What do you understand by 'minimum age of criminal responsibility'? (2 marks)

8. State two key functions of the Rehabilitation School (former approved school) (4 marks)

9. Why is an exit strategy crucial to institutional rehabilitation? (3 marks)

SECTION B - Answer ANY TWO of the following questions (40 Marks)
10. Interventions in behaviour disorders, especially in regard to children in conflict with the law, date back to around 1900. Trace the historical development of the correctional institutions to date, identifying key milestones in this development (20 marks)

11. The controversy between nature and nurture in determining behaviour is a major issue. Basing your argument on a theoretical model, create an argument for any of the two, justifying why you think either nature or nurture has a bigger part to play in development of behaviour disorders. (20 marks)

12. The balance between preventive and curative interventions is another major issue in education of children with behaviour disorders. Create a case for preventive interventions, defining the different types of prevention and discussing key considerations and importance of preventive intervention (20 marks)

13. Some people say that community-based rehabilitation is more effective than institutional rehabilitation. Compare and contrast institutional and community- based rehabilitation, identifying the key strengths and weaknesses of each approach (20 marks)
