With reference to any TWO texts you have studied, discuss any FOUR thematic concerns and show how the author?s use of style reinforces the message in the text. (26 marks)

Examine the role played by the Negritude literary movement in creating consciousness of the African reader. (22 marks)
3.
Examine the use of culture as a means of social and political assertion as demonstrated in any ONE text from either (a) West-African prose or (b) South African prose. (22 marks)
4.
Discuss how any TWO authors you have studied have responded to the gender question in Africa. (22 marks)
5.
Discuss any FOUR major characters you have studied showing how characterization helps to bring out the message in the text. (22 marks)
