Minimum Course Entry Requirements

1. Holders of a Bachelors degree from Mount Kenya University of at least Upper Second Class Honours in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, BSc. Botany/Zoology, BEd. Science (Biology) or an equivalent qualification from a University recognized by Mount Kenya University Senate.
2. Holders of a Bachelors degree from Mount Kenya University of Lower Second Class in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, BSc. Botany/Zoology, BEd. Science (Biology) or an equivalent qualification from a University recognized by Mount Kenya University Senate.
3. In addition, the candidate must have at least two years of documented relevant work and/or research experience.
4. Holders of a Bachelors Pass degree of Mount Kenya University in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, BSc. Botany/Zoology, Bed. Science (Biology) or an equivalent qualification from a University recognized by Mount Kenya University Senate plus a relevant postgraduate diploma from an institution recognized by Mount Kenya University Senate, with at least five years of documented relevant work/research experience
Admission requirements
- Students interested in pursuing this
program are expected to hold any one
of the qualifications below:
(a)Bachelor's degree in education or
science from a recognized university
with at least second class upper division
and have studied biotechnology or a relevant
discipline to a degree level.

(b)Students having at least second class,lower division
in the above areas may be admitted provided they have a
minimum of two years work experience in a relevant field or
can show proven evidence of research ability.

- Eighteen months

-(ii)Kshs.4,000 for Non East African students
Entry requirements
- Applicants are required to be in possession of bachelors degree second class honors upper division in biochemistry,health sciences,biological sciences,horticulture and a degree in food science and technology from JKUAT or
- Hold a bachelor of science second class honors upper class division in health science,horticulture,food science and technology,biotechnology and biological sciences from a reputable institution recognized by JKUAT or
- Hold a second class honors lower division plus an evidence publication of a two years research expereince
Period of study
- 1 year
Course requirements.
(a) Bachelor of Science(BSc.) degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Range Management, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Biological and Natural Sciences from a recognized University; OR

(b) Bachelors degree as in 1 above with a Lower Second Class Honors plus at least two years of relevant work experience/ demonstrated research ability.

Course duration.
Two years.
Admission shall be granted to holders of any of the qualifications below:
(a) Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences or any other related discipline with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or an equivalent qualification.

(b) Second Class Honours (Lower Division) with at least two years of relevant research and or work experience.

Course duration.
Four semesters.
