Answer any THREE of the following questions.

1. Either

?Most political problems faced by African countries have their roots in
colonialism?. To what extent is this statement valid?
Or
(b)
Using specific examples, discuss the extent to which colonial succession
in Africa was basically a contest between sectarian interests.

What were the key political issues in African pre-colonial societies? How have
these issues affected modern African politics?

Compared to capitalist Kenya, socialist Tanzania was more socially egalitarian
but less economically productive. Account for this state of affairs paying close
attention to the key principles underlying the two ideologies.

Citing relevant cases, identify and critically evaluate the factors that have
contributed to the militarization of politics in Africa.

Compare and contrast the impact of democratization in Kenya and Zambia.
