(i)Biology,chemistry,geography or any other group iv subject and a C+ in maths or physics or
(ii) A B- in physical sciences,biological sciences,geography or any other group iv subject and a C+ in maths or
- Hold a diploma in food, nutrition and dietetics from a recognized institution with a at least a credit pass

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED HUMAN NUTRITION

The common regulations for the Masters degrees in all faculties shall apply.

The following shall be eligible for admission:

Holders of at least an upper second class honours degree or its equivalent qualification in BSc. Food Science, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences or Medical Sciences from University of Nairobi, or equivalent qualification from any other Institution recognized by the Senate.

Holders of at least a Lower Second Class honours degree in the same disciplines as in 2.2 (i) from the University of Nairobi or from another Institution recognized by the Senate, but must show proof of academic advancement either through research and publication or postgraduate training.

Pass degree with at least five years of experience and must show proof of academic advancement either through research and publication or postgraduate training.
Minimum qualifications
- To qualify for this
program,applicants must
have scored a minimum
of C+ in KCSE.They are
expected to have passed
in subjects in either of
the alternatives below:
-Alternative 1
(a)B- in biology
(b)B- in chemistry
(c)C+ in maths
(d)B- in geography or any group
IV subjects.

-Alternative 2
(a)B- in biological sciences
(b)B- in physical sciences
(c)C+ in physics
(d)B- in geography or any of
the group IV subjects.

Degree holders may be admitted
provided they meet the minimum
entry requirements

Applications may be considered for
students holding relevant diplomas
provided they have passed with credit.

Course duration
- Four years
The program enables students to understand components
of food and correct nutritional values.There has been a need to
proper nutrition due to increase in lifestyle diseases like diabetes.
Graduates are therefore able to offer advisory services regarding
dangers posed by some foods.

Course requirements
- A minimum of a C+ in KCSE with a C+ in biology and chemistry or
hold a diploma in food and nutrition or its equivalent from
accredited institution.
