MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT

Duration : 2 years

Admission requirements:

The common regulations for Masters degrees in the University of Nairobi shall apply.

The following shall be eligible for admission into the Master of Science in Information Technology Management:

-Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related discipline, with at least Upper Second Class Honours, of the University of Nairobi, or an equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by Senate.

-Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related discipline, of Lower Second Class Honours, of the University of Nairobi, or an equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by Senate. In addition, they must have demonstrable relevant Information Technology expertise and experience of at least two years.

-Holders of a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science or Postgraduate Diploma in Information Systems of the University of Nairobi, of at least Credit or an equivalent qualification from another institution recognized by Senate.

Applicants shall be required to pass a School-based entrance examination.
This program is available in faculty of
Information Technology.Despite IT skills,
applicants are equipped with managerial
know-how too.

Program requirements
- Applicants must hold first class or upper
second class honours degree in computer science
or in any information technology-related field from
a recognized institution or
hold a first degree in information technology with at least
two years working experience with in business or research environment or
hold a lower second class degree plus two year working experience and a postgraduate or certificate

Additional requirements
(i)Applicants must attend and pass an oral interview and a graduate entrance examination
(ii)They must present two reference letters from academic referees.
Interviews are conducted every Wednesday and Friday from 2 p.m.
Applicants are required to bring the following items:
(a)A copy of national ID
(b)Two passport-size photos
(c)Originals and copies of academic and professional certificates
(d)A non-refundable Sh.2000 interview fee

Holders of a Bachelor degree in Computing/Computer Science/Information Technology/Business Information Technology/Computer Engineering or related field of at least Upper Second Class Honors from a recognized University or Holders of a Bachelor degree in Computing/Computer Science/Information Technology/Business Information Technology/Computer Technology/Computer Engineering or related field of at least Lower Second Class Honors from a recognized University with at least three years’ experience or Holders of a Bachelor in Computing/Computer Science/Information Technology/Business Information Technology/Computer Technology/Computer Engineering or related field a degree with a Pass and working experience of at least five years.

Intakes: May every year.
Course duration: 2 academic years.
Entry requirements:
- Holders of First Class or Upper Second Class Honours degrees in a Computer Science or IT discipline from recognized universities; or
- Holders of other related qualifications from recognized universities, considered by the Academic Council as equivalent to a First Class or Upper Second Class degree in Computer Science or IT discipline; or
- Holders of a first degree in IT with at least two year’s working experience in a business or research environment
- Holders of Lower Second Class degrees plus two year working experience and Postgraduate Diplomas or Certificates;
Course requirements
(i) First Class Honours and Upper Second Class
Honours Degree in related fields.OR

(ii) Lower Second Class Honours Bachelor’s
Degree with additional relevant training,
evidence of research capability either through,
paper presentations or peer reviewed
publications and relevant working experience.
