1. Describe any five the following terms used in our discussion of the redemption story:

2. Genesis 1 and 2 gives a clear account of the origin of the universe and the creation of man.
a. Why is it important to recognize that there is a Creator? (2 Mks)
b. What hints are in this chapter to show that God exists in a Trinity? (2 Mks)
c. Some people suggest that God could have used evolution in his creation process. Can
such a belief be consistent with these two chapters? Explain. (3 Mks)
d. Account for the differences in the names of God as used in both chapters. (4 Mks)
e. God created man male and female. Account for the fact that man and woman were
created to be equal but yet are different in terms of their roles. Give facts from the
passage to show that man has been given headship. (4 Mks)

3. The nation of Israel has been used of God as a channel of His salvation.
a. Expound the three roles of the nation in the redemption story highlighted in
Exodus 19:4-6. (3 Mks)
b. Describe in detail the three stages the nation of Israel went through in rejecting the rule of
God thereby failing in her role in the redemption story. (9 Mks)
c. Judaism is a religion that grew out in the process. Did, and does God approve of it? Why
or why not? Give reasons for your answer. (3 Mks)

4. The death and the resurrection of Jesus are at the centre of the redemption story.
a. Reply to a sceptic who questions whether Jesus actually died. Provide at least four
convincing facts. (5 Mks)
b. Respond to someone who claims that Jesus did not resurrect bodily, by explaining the
four proofs apostle Paul gives in 1 Corinthians 15. (5 Mks)
c. Death on a cross was very cruel and excruciating. Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?
(5 Mks)

5. The Great Commission forms the mission of the Church till the return of Jesus.
a. Explain why Matthew’s account of the Great Commission is the most distinctive among
the other Gospels (Mark and Luke)? (4 Mks)
b. Explain at least three reasons to show why the gospel message uniquely appeals to all
people. (3 Mk s)
c. The message of the apostles focussed on central theme of the person and work of Jesus
Christ. What did they say about him? (3 Mks)
d. What motivated the apostles (in book of Acts) to spread the gospel of Jesus? (5 Mks)
