How do you manage your time as an online worker? Considering that most online jobs seem to be unsupervised, most online workers can choose to work at any time of the day, or night, as they wish. But surprisingly enough, by the end of the day, most of them will have done almost nothing. The reason usually is attributed time management — most online workers don’t plan their time. Most people will even multitask, including eating, while working. What makes it worse is that this doesn't seem to bother them at all.

It’s critical that you manage your time, or you’ll under-work (or overwork) yourself. The old adage says there’s time for everything — there’s time to eat, dance, work, sleep and have fun. You don’t have to multitask. On the contrary, it only makes you unproductive. All of the things that you multitask can better be done one at a time, if you want to be efficient enough. Here’s a guide to help you manage time as an online worker.

Go to bed early, and wake up early. Your body needs the rest that it deserves, or it will not be productive. Going to bed early enhances the following day’s productivity; waking up early adds the boost. If you wake up late, chance are high that you might laze around all day long.

You also want to sleep during the night, and not during the day. It’s not uncommon for online workers to sleep at any time of the day or night — plus they see nothing wrong with it. Yet, according to research, he who sleeps at night gets the best sleep. If you sleep during the day, you risk interfering your sleep by the, not so uncommon, daily distractions including noise from the neighborhood and children.

Equally noteworthy is drawing a

time-schedule. Set aside time for work, time for leisure, time for meals and time for sleep — have your schedule clearly drawn, and endeavor to abide by it. Self-discipline should be your guide always. Of course, there is time for everything — you don’t have to fore-go some activities at the expense of others.

Have some goal in mind. Ask yourself how much money you want to make each month. Note that down and work towards fulfilling it. In fact, doing so will help you stay focused while managing your time.

Hopefully, after reading this article, you’re going to be productive as an online worker, and live healthily, as well.
