A vivid perspective of riches or wealth is when a person has lots of money, one or more flashy cars, and an up-town mansion. When a person eats the fairest meals, wares the latest fashion and hangs out with high profile people. Apparently, that, is the definition of a rich person, according to the 21st century man. However, i have a different perspective of who a rich man is.

A rich man is someone who is content with what he has. One who will not mind when he misses sausage or beacon for breakfast. A rich man is one who is at peace and finds true happiness in him all the time, so that he doesn't have to worry about a thing. Even if you think that you have loads of cash, but no contentment, believe me, you will feel that you aren't rich. You will think that those who seem to enjoy life are doing better than you.

People are always seeking things that they don’t have, when they acquire them, they start worrying about those they haven’t. A “rich” man, on the other hand, does not chase all things at one go, he is satisfied with what he has because he knows that all the riches of the world are nothing but a wind. In fact the bible refers to all this as chasing after the wind. We struggle so much to acquire more than we can handle, it’s like taking lots of food more than your stomach or mouth can contain. The moment this form of greed kicks in, your true riches vanish.

The secret is that true riches lie in the heart and mind of a man. Ask yourself this; at what point do you start to think that you need a nice car, designer clothing and

millions of shillings. At what point do you start to think that even if you take plain veges with “ugali” every single day, you are just fine? True riches have more to do with our minds and hearts, than the material things we see around. Why do you think Jesus was poor in material things yet he is the owner of all riches? Come on! He didn't even have food after his 40 days of fasting, yet his father owns everything, even those things that no man has ever seen. The reason why Jesus was wealthy is because of the condition of his heart and mind, He was completely convinced that he was rich, and He still is, today.
